Quantity - +

Tri-Clamp style connection used to fit over existing tubing

Roll-on expanding ferrules are available in both 304 & 316L stainless steel alloy. Product is NOT 3A certified. Roll-on ferrules are typically used in the dairy and poultry industries. Instead of butt welding, the roll-on ferrule is typically slipped over the tube and rough welded into place.

  6. I am trying to silver solder or braze your Tri-clamp sanitary fittings on to copper pipe. It looks like the standard weld-on fittings wouldn’t fit but I see that you offer a “roll-on” Tri-clamp fitting that might fit just right. 1) Can you explain the difference between the roll-on fittings from standard fittings? 2) Can you confirm if these fittings will fit over standard-sized copper pipe for silver soldering or brazing?

A The roll-on ferrules are meant to slide over the other tube (your copper tubing in this case) and then be welded into place for a secure connection. Because you are working with pipe (which is measured by the Inside Diameter) I don't know how close our sanitary fittings are going to match. This means that there will probably be a pretty big gap that will need to be welded for this to work. This type of connection would not be considered sanitary and so it should not be used in the production of any food, beverage for pharmaceutical applications. The standard sanitary fittings we offer are meant to mate up with a tube of the same size and be welded together to form a seamless, smooth connection between the two tubes.
